Distributing mHealth is essential for the mHealth movement to meet its goals to cut costs and expand access to healthcare and health information. The distribution channels for mHealth continue to grow in creative and varied ways, from social media networks, to gaming platforms, medical devices to community healthcare workers, and more. These sessions identify the many ways mHealth is reaching, engaging, and educating consumers.

Does healthy behavior spread through social connections? Does leveraging social networks encourage consumers to make decisions and engage in activities to help them live healthier lives?

Gaming platforms today are not only ubiquitous in American households, but also dynamic systems capable of supporting therapeutic health solutions that go beyond the typical game. Rehabilitation techniques can now be delivered via gaming platforms, such as Wii and Xbox, to help increase compliance and educate the public on disease prevention. Researchers and company representatives will discuss their insights on the health gaming industry and how games can evolve into a serious therapeutic platform.

Text messaging, geo-location systems, wearable devices, and other technologies have been used with success in emergency response and relief. An expert panel looks at the role mHealth plays in emergency response by examining case studies where mobile technologies have been used with success in emergency situations. Additionally, this panel explores how government officials are building capacity and spectrum to support the future use of wireless technologies to disseminate information and track outcomes.

mHealth Business Models in Maternal Health
Much can be learned about the implementation of text4baby from multiple perspectives: industry, real-time data, partners, providers, and users. Moreover, the data can shed light on trends at the national level in designing and implementing the program as well as how communities engage in the text4baby program in a local context. A panel of experts will discuss the lessons learned and discuss how real-time data will contribute immensely to the evidence base on the efficacy of mobile health.
