Navigating the Deployments of mHealth from the Hospital to the Home
Tuesday, December 4, 2012 - 5:00 - 6:15 PM
Session Overview
The mHealth market has brought together two of the most dissimilar industries one could possibly imagine: The fast-paced, globally omnipresent world of mobile device technology and the ever-cautious, regionalized world of healthcare.
Each side needs to learn a new language of acronyms, new business processes and new product life cycle metrics that are either a lot faster or a lot slower than they have ever experienced before. Med device makers have had to look at consumer electronic channels and mobile device makers have had to make friends at the FDA. The industry has made much progress over the past year but more needs to be done to create an efficient market that begins to scale and become affordable for the mass market.
This session will bring together industry experts from the enabling sectors that will share their insights, successes and bruises getting to market with mHealth devices and services. There have been many successes to date but they have not necessarily been scalable or affordable. Bringing the consumer electronics, medical device and services industries together offers the promise of bringing mass market pricing and availability to the mHealth industry. Reality or just more promises?
Session Objectives
- Learn about how to successfully deploy mHealth services
- Learn to navigate the mHealth value chain and make the appropriate relationships to get mHealth services to market
