Mobile for Women

Mobile for Women: Connecting, Empowering, Improving Lives
Monday, December 9 - 2:30 - 3:30 PM

Session Overview

Women living in developing countries are 21% less likely to own a cell phone than a man, but the women who do own mobile phones (more than 1 billion) report feeling more connected and experiencing greater independence. mHealth plays an important part in empowering women by connecting them with health workers, vital health information, and by giving them access to new tools, resources and technology. This panel will discuss various proven mHealth approaches that empower women to make better, more informed health decisions in areas such as family planning.
